Get More Done by Hiring a Virtual Assistant: Website Builders Daily Digest

Virtual Assistant

A is an excellent option for independent service professionals. Virtual assistants are highly skilled administrative and executive assistants who provide their support to business owners. A Virtual Assistant is a skilled person that does variety of jobs that includes but not limited to administrative jobs, online and offline computer work, and web based work.

Through the use of modern communication tools a virtual assistant works in his or her own office and forwards the completed task to clients via, E-Mail, Fax, IM, Phone etc. A Virtual Assistant is an independent business owner just like the business owner they are working with. In fact many prefer the term “Virtual Professional” over “Virtual Assistant” reasoning that it is much as more descriptive of the partnership between business owner and assistant.

As you know each weekday I post a daily digest of the best articles I’ve found that day on a topic that is of particular interest to website builders, buyers and sellers.

Here are the links to today’s best articles on virtual assistants:

Read, Learn, Enjoy!

Keeping Track of Virtual Assistant Hours
Time tracking is an important component in the virtual assistance industry.  Because clients are only billed for time actually spent on their tasks, it is vital that a virtual assistant have some sort of system in place to track time.  Some clients are going to demand to see the exact breakdown of time, while others will be the type that aren’t concerned with it all that much.  I think it’s a good business practice to have (and use) a time tracker that allows you to send every client the breakdown regardless.

Wisconsin Virtual Assistant Network
A few of the Madison area VAs (Rachel Rasmussen of Rescue Desk, Jessica Maes of Maes Consulting, and myself) decided to turn our unofficial get-togethers into an official networking group. We wanted to promote local VA talent and provide information about the VA industry. We also wanted to give businesses a site to help them find a Virtual Assistant who fit their support needs.

VAClassroom – A New Virtual Assistant Training and Job Center
Since many of you are Internet Business owners, I am sure you have already experienced the buzz happening in the these days. It is certainly one of the fastest growing sectors of the Internet right now, with no slowing down in sight. More and more companies are quickly seeing the immense value in building virtual teams to help them take their businesses to new heights.

Questions from a New Virtual Assistant
As a new Virtual Assistant just starting out, I have a burning question while researching a possible career field. What do companies/people want and willing to pay for? I just do not have a current understanding of what the real needs are. I know this could be difficult question to answer but as I am in the begining stages, it is rather an intimidating one for me.

Hiring and Managing A Virtual Assistant
Why hire a VA? Simply because someone else can do what you can do for cheaper, when considering what your time is worth, and what it is worth when considering the fact that if you don’t have the time to do certain things you might miss out on opportunities all together. For example, if you don’t have the time to research the best priced option for a purchase in your local area, but instead have to go to the first or second place that you call because you simply just don’t have the time to cal around, the $7 you spend on a VA researching for an hour the options and selecting the best, could save you $100.
