Blog Pinging: Huge List of Services You Should Be Using

is a process that happens behind the scenes in most blog software. WordPress comes with a built in piece of software that will ping for you every time that you make a post. Its like you’re shouting “I’ve added new content to my blog”.

This built in wordpress application automatically notifies popular update services that you’ve updated your blog by sending a XML-RPC ping each time you create or update a post. In turn, update services process the ping and updates their proprietary indices with your update.
